Prof. Raj Mani
Prof Raj Mani is a trained and accredited Angiologist and clinical scientist: his research focus is the microcirculation, tissue hypoxia, and improved wound healing. During his years in the National Health Service (mostly based in Southampton) Dr. Raj was involved in clinical imaging and research into tissue viability. He developed ultrasound driven techniques to image the veins and established a clinical service.
Several graduate and PhD students worked in the lab directed by him: the last of his PhD students are in the process of finishing their research theses in the University of Southampton. Presently Dr Raj is an independent consultant, also an Adjunct Professor at Chiang Mai University, Thailand and a Consultant / Advisory Professor Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, China.
Prof. Dr. Sadanori Akita
Professor Dr. Sadanori Akita is a professor and chief of department of plastic surgery, wound repair and regeneration of Fukuoka University, school of medicine since 2016.
He did his residency in plastic surgery at Nagasaki University Hospital. He received his PhD from the Graduate School of Nagasaki University specializing in plastic and reconstructive surgery. He later did a research fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) under supervision of ShlomoMelmed MD on a cytokine expression and its regulation in vivo by using a transgenic animal model.
Dr. Joon Pio Hong
Dr. Joon Pio Hong, M.D., Ph.D., M.B.A. is Professor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Ulsan College of Medicine and Asan Medical Center. He has board certification in trauma, hand along with plastic surgery.
He received his BS degree from the Yonsei University of College of Medicine and his MS degree in medicine and PhD degree from the Graduate School of Yonsei University. He received his M.B.A. on medical management from University of Southern California at Marshall School of Business.
He is an active member of a number of professional associations such as the American Society of Plastic Surgery, World Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery, and Korean Society of Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Xiaobing Fu
Dr. Xiaobing Fu is a Professor and Director of the Key Research Laboratory of Wound Repair and Regeneration of PLA, the Director of the Institute of Basic Medical Science, College of Life Sciences, General Hospital of PLA (301 Hospital), Medical College of PLA, and the President of the Chinese Tissue Repair Society and the Chinese Trauma Society.
He serves as a member of the World Union of Wound Healing Societies and an editorial board member of international journals such as Wound Repair and Regeneration, International Wound Journal, International Lower Extremity Wound Journal, Advances in Wound Care and Science China Life Sciences. He was elected to the Chinese Academy of Engineering (Division of Medical and Health) in 2009.
Prof. Dr. Yur Ren Kuo
Prof. Dr. Yur Ren Kuo, is currently the Professor and Chairman of Department of Surgery, and Chief of Plastic Surgery, Director of Transplantation Center, Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital, Taiwan. He has met full residency training of general surgery and plastic surgery in National Taiwan University and Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in 1991- 1997.
Dr. Kuo is an internationally renowned “Surgeon-Scientist”, not only in clinical practice, but also in basic research. Dr. Kuo attained his PhD degree from Graduate Institute of Clinical Medicine, Chang Gung Medical College in 2003. Then he served as the Post-doctor Research Associate position in the University Of Pittsburgh Medical Center, PA, between 2004 to 2005. His research focused on the immunomodulation of composite tissue all transplantation.
Dr. Apirag Chuangsuwanich
Dr. Apirag Chuangsuwanich Clinical Professor Division of Plastic Surgery, Department of Surgery, Siriraj Hospital Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital Mahidol University.
He is the President of The Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons of Thailand and also a member of the Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons of Thailand. He also holds the position of the President of The Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons of Thailand from 2009 until present and also the President of The Society of Thai Burn Care Physicians from 2008 until present. He is The Chief of Division of Plastic Surgery, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital from 2009 until present. He is a Clinical Professor in Plastic Surgery Professional organization and also an editorial board member of Aesthetic Surgery Journal.
Prof. Geoff Rey Sussman
Professor Geoff Rey Sussman has been involved in wound management for more than 30 years, in clinical research, clinical practice and teaching, and has more than 100 publications. He's been a member of Sports Medicine Australia for 20-plus years and has lectured for it on sports trainer courses and to sports medicine doctors. He's an advisor to the Commonwealth Government on wound issues.
Professor Geoffrey Sussman OAM is a modern-day renaissance man. At 82 years old, he actively contributes to his profession, local community and faith, the arts and sporting worlds, and the wider Victorian and Australian communities.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aziz Nather
Associate Professor Dr. Aziz Nather has been a member of NUH Multi-Disciplinary Diabetic Foot Team since May 2003.
He received his surgical degree in 1978 from University of Edinburgh and University of Glasgow (FRCS Edin, FRCS Glas). He also obtained a Doctor of Medicine Degree in 1988 for his thesis “Fracture healing and revascularisation of a large avascular segment of bone”.
Prof Nather is the Founding President of the Asia Pacific Association on Diabetic Limb Problems set up in Singapore in November 2004. He is currently the Honorary Secretary of this association. Prof Nather ran the inaugural APCDLP Conference and also the 5th APCDLP and the 10th APCDLP Conference in Singapore.

Dr. Josephine Ip is the Chief of Division of Hand & Foot Surgery in Department of Orthopedics & Traumatology in the University of Hong Kong.
She was the past President of Hong Kong Society for Surgery of the Hand, past Secretary of the Asian Pacific Federation for Surgery of the Hand and the past Congress President of the 7th Congress of APFSSH in 2008. She is the founder of the Hong Kong Society for Diabetic Limb Care. She is currently the President-Elect of Hong Kong Society for Surgery of the Hand.
Assoc. Prof. Dr Sriram Narayanan
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sriram Narayanan, is a senior consultant vascular and endovascular surgeon performing complex venous interventions and varicose vein surgery, thoracic and abdominal aortic endovascular repairs for aortic aneurysms, peripheral vascular re-vascularization for diabetic and non-diabetic arterial disease and dialysis access surgery. He has a special interest in deep vein thrombosis, venous angioplasty and stenting, pelvic congestion syndrome in women and vascular erectile dysfunction in men.
Dr. Narayanan obtained his medical degree from JIPMER, India in 1993 and basic surgical training at the Sir JJ Hospital, Mumbai, India leading to the Master of Surgery degree in 1997. He moved to the UK in 1997 for advanced surgical training and went on to train in Gastro-intestinal, Thoracic and Hepatobiliary surgery in Liverpool and Cornwall followed by 2 years of research in Transplantation at Nottingham.
